about

It was 1991 when I began recording a few acoustic demos with Jerry Giddens (Walking Wounded) and Ethan James (producer extraordinaire). By this time, Ethan had moved from his legendary Radio Tokyo Studios in Venice and relocated to a loft on Sunset. The demos were intended to prep the songs George and I had been writing for our band the Last American Heroes. During the sessions, we began experimenting with Ethan's vast array of acoustic instruments while limiting the instrumentation on each song so there would only be 2 instruments max. That gave the songs the band had already been performing live a totally different identity, leading us to release these 14 songs as a solo recording in 1994.
